Late Birthday Gifts

The first belated gift I received was from the mechanic. Turns out my radiator cap was missing. I was prepared to pay for parts, labor, and towing, but when I came to pick my car up, the owner and the front desk coordinator were discussing my bill and decided that unless other people were under my hood since they last saw my car, they were probably culpable for the missing cap. So, they decided not to charge me, for the cap or the towing.

The second gift came in the form of food. The SO came back from the Blacksun Festival with Vice Chocolates, and we also went out to eat at Tulip, Milwaukee’s (relatively) new Turkish restaurant. Both were quite yummy, and you can find pictures of both at my Flickr page.

There was a chocolate vendor called Vice at the Blacksun Festival, and Dan picked up some of them for my birthday. Very pretty, they are actually hand-painted. The hearts were caramels flavored with chipotle, and the round ones were truffles flavored with earl gray tea.
