I did not create this site.
So I gave up trying to code my site all the damned time and decided to consult the talents of those that DO code sites all the damned time. I just want to write. It only makes sense, then, to combine what those people are good at with what I’m good at. Hence, the site you see before you.
The design isn’t fully tweaked. You will note (if you’ve been paying attention to me at ALL over the last, say, 15 years) that the silhouette at the top looks nothing like me. That will probably change. Also, while I have a Flickr account, I only use it to view other people’s Flickr accounts. I uploaded enough photos to populate my Flickr bar on website. Someday I may upload them all. But I don’t even have a functional camera at the moment. Gah…
Giving up on the whole “site from scratch” approach has felt weird, like I admitted defeat. In a sense, I have, and I’m not going to feel guilty about it. Better to finally say, “What the f*ck, 90% of my time is spent doing 10% of what I actually like, and 10% of my time is spent doing 90% of what I actually like. Time to poo or get off the pot, I’m not great at everything.”
Experts have created both the publishing tool and the site design. Hopefully there will also be an expert populating it with content.
Go ahead, have your say!
