Picking up the pace

Practice gets better, the van gets… vannier.

Best practice so far for me. The “surprise” for these two shows is also coming together quite nicely, I must say.

I have a busy week of babysitting our new (to us) van. Last week was the transmission flush. This week I am getting the oil changed and brake fluid changed (Tues. morning), taking it in for the mirror replacement (Wed. morning), dropping it off for a hitch installation (Wed. afternoon), picking it up with a new hitch (Thurs. afternoon), and at some point picking up an actual, rented trailer (Friday). Somewhere in there I have to practice, do laundry, make sure my plants get watered in this heat (my poor tomatoes are still hanging in there), balance books, pack for the trip, and bemoan the fact that I haven’t been to the gym in two weeks.

Then on Friday we load up and leave for DC, stopping somewhere in Ohio Friday night. On Saturday we play in DC, stay over at Dave and Domi’s, then leave Sunday morning for Pittsburgh, where we play that night and are staying with DJ Hiem. Then we haul ass back on Monday morning and arrive in Milwaukee somewhere around dinner time.

And then you said...

@Gail—Will do! I have ambitious plans to blog on the road, and hopefully snap some pics, too. We’ll see if either of those things ends up happening.
