Practice… perfect… you know the rest.
Well, we had band practice for the first time last night… first time with me on keys, that is. It didn’t fail spectacularly, but I do have work to do. They were all very generous, too kind, really. I needed sheet music for some pieces, yet… although for a handful I had them down cold.
Full rehearsal reveals certain things that you never quite get practicing alone, so I’m glad that early in the two-week-whirlwind process I got a taste of some of the things I either need to work on, or didn’t know about (entrances or endings not written into the music, for example).
Finally, a good reason to be unemployed: PRACTICE ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

I think I couldn’t read a few of them for a while there because your server was freaking out or whatever. Your blog seems to be running a lot better now.
Yeah, I had some “complaints” from other visitors, and finally looked into things. Oddly, it came down to removing a spam blacklist from my comments form. Not sure how that works, but removing it sped everything else up. Now I just hope that forced preview will prevent spammers from wrecking havoc with my site.
