Having a good snowblower doesn’t make this any easier.
So yes, we got some weather last week Wednesday. The SO was able to work from home (work closed anyway), and we did not attempt any snow removal until evening, when it finally stopped. At that point, it was nearly thigh high. Thankfully, our Ahrens snowblower can handle this without a problem, but it still took a long time and when I had the chance to walk around the next day (another post about why I was doing that is forthcoming), I decided to capture a little bit with my iPhone camera (see below).
I believe that with this snowfall, we are a mere foot away from breaking a record for total winter snowfall. And it’s only February.
Saturday night and all of Sunday we were punished by horrid winds and accompanying wind chills (but temptingly beautiful outside, if you didn’t notice the tree limbs whipping around). If I had to find a reason to be happy about all this, I’d have to say that all this snow is going to prove great for my plants and bulbs, keeping them protected from the dry, harsh winds. I, however, hunker down inside, wrapped up and hoping to catch the sun when it passes a window.
Yup, looks familiar. Just glad Mother Nature is blessing Milwaukee and Lake Michigan towns this year. I’m sure Marquette and the U.P. will get our share again in years to come.
